For this episode of Watching Robocop with Kit Power, I’m delighted to be joined by Chris Barnes of AudioRam productions. Chris Barnes is an audiobook narrator of considerable talent, with a well deserved reputation in the horror community for professionalism and skill. It’s an honour to have him sit and watch a movie with me.

Listen out for:

  • Chris making a killer Eastenders reference that demolishes Kit
  • Kit referring to his favourite movie as a ‘show’ (clearly started drinking early)
  • Where did spoilers came from in the 80’s?
  • Periods of silence as Chris and I absorb in awe the amazing action sequences
  • Kit continuing to push his homoerotic readings on unsuspecting guests
  • Fond reminiscences of old video games based on movies
  • Sniffing
  • A new fan theory: do OCP also run a glazers?

Why Robocop is the greatest movie ever made.

Chris Barnes can be found on Facebook here and Twitter here.

Welcome to the first ever bonus episode of the podcast! Thanks to the amazing generosity of my Patreon backers, I am going to be releasing these bonus episodes on a bi-monthly basis, in which returning guests get to pick THEIR favourite movie to talk about.

In our first bonus 'cast, Daniel Harper returns to talk about his childhood love affair and obsession with Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Amongst many revelations, discover:

  • How there are, in fact, only two Terminator movies
  • Vonnegut's holy word
  • Kit outing himself as a human chauvinist

And much, much more. Enjoy! :)

Welcome to episode 3 of Watching Robocop with Kit Power! This month I am delighted to be joined by Jane Campbell, a superb podcaster and blogger, whose work on Doctor Who, Lost, and Stephen Universe is so dazzlingly brilliant that she was always a must-have guest for this show, so I was incredibly flattered that she agreed to appear. To add to the fun, she'd never seen Robocop before the week of recording. And it's the first instance of watching the Directors Cut on the show!

Revel! In her fury at trying to pass Dallas off as Detroit. Thrill! To her joyous queering of the text! Marvel! At the best toxic masculinity joke ever!

Enjoy!

Welcome to episode 2 of Watching Robocop with Kit Power! This time out, I am overjoyed to welcome Daniel Harper (Of Oi! Spaceman, They Must Be Destroyed On Sight! Podcasts AND Eruditorum Press fame) to the show. Enjoy us riffing on movie cops Vs. real cops, me on the myth of prevention, and Daniel on Black Lives Matters and what Robocop doesn’t have to say about real life police brutality. Oh, and two white male progressives talking about race, which, you know, doesn't get awkward at all. Enjoy!!!

Oi! Spaceman (a Doctor Who love story) podcast is here. They Must Be Destroyed on site movie podcast is here. My guest appearances on both shows can be found here and here.  And Daniel and Shana’s blog work (along with a bunch of other great writing) can be found on the Eruditorum Press website here.

For the debut episode of my podcast, I'm delighted to welcome James Murphy of Pex Lives and City of the Dead fame! Be Amazed! as we talk about the sad demise of stop frame animation and superb foley work! Thrill! to the sound of opening beer cans and subsequent descent into giggling incoherence on the part of your host! Marvel! at James’ patience as I allow my enthusiasm for this movie to override his attempt to speak again and again!
